Lumerical is a leading developer of photonic simulation software – software that enables research and development professionals to predict how light behaves within complex structures, circuits, and systems.  Photonics unlocks many possibilities for the world’s most innovative companies who increasingly rely on virtual prototyping to explore new product concepts and optimize designs.  Our customers are developing the technology of tomorrow – things like LiDAR systems for autonomous cars, virtual reality headsets, cellphone cameras, communications equipment for data centers and new platforms for quantum computing. 

As a Project Manager, you will manage projects across the company, including engineering, IT and company-wide quarterly objectives and be a vocal proponent of creating transparency and clarity around project goals, progress and outcomes.   As part of our Operations team, you will work in close collaboration with key stakeholders to document and manage project scope and objectives, and create work plans, project schedules, resource plans and status reports.  You will conduct project meetings, ensure adherence to quality standards, and build dynamic and solid relationships. 


  • Plan, schedule, estimate and coordinate projects across the company;
  • Work with multiple stakeholders throughout the project life cycle to ensure that deliverables are on track;
  • Proactively identify issues/problems and work with key stakeholders to address and resolve them to ensure project success;
  • Manage expectations with senior leadership and key stakeholders and effectively communicate all aspects of project delivery (reporting at all stakeholder levels);
  • Communicate actively to the wider team on the company’s project ambitions, progress and outcomes;
  • Consistently apply project management methodology, standards, practices, and processes to all projects and work streams;
  • Identify and propose improvements where necessary; and
  • Provide guidance to project team members to ensure successful outcomes.  


  • 2+ years coordinating or managing projects in the technology sector;
  • Degree or diploma in a related subject;
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA;
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment;
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent planning, organizational, time management, and multitasking skills;
  • Detail oriented with high standards for quality;
  • Prior experience with OKRs an asset ; and
  • PMP Certification or working towards it an asset.
